Senior Project Manager

Position Overview

Our client is a well-established, highly respected mechanical contractor with a strong regional footprint and decades of experience delivering complex commercial and industrial projects. They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead high-value mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, while mentoring project teams and supporting long-term operational excellence.

This role is based out of the company’s headquarters and will play a critical leadership role across project execution, client relationships, and internal coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple mechanical construction projects from award through completion

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure profitability

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders

  • Oversee project planning, staffing, procurement, and subcontractor coordination

  • Review contracts, change orders, and project documentation to mitigate risk and ensure compliance

  • Collaborate closely with estimating, preconstruction, field leadership, and accounting teams

  • Mentor and support Project Managers, Engineers, and support staff

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards

  • Participate in executive-level project reviews and strategic planning initiatives

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management

  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and/or piping systems

  • Proven success managing large, complex commercial or industrial projects

  • Experience leading project teams and working cross-functionally

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-management skills

  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
