Vice President of Service

Overview
Our client is a private equity–backed commercial roofing contractor implement the second phase of an aggressive growth phase. We’re seeking an accomplished Vice President of Service to architect, launch, and scale a best-in-class service division. This leader will start with a lean foundation and build toward a nationally integrated, branch-scalable service platform, positioning service as both a growth engine and a long-term client retention strategy.
This role requires a strategic builder and operator, someone who has built service programs, teams, and processes within a high-growth, multi-branch contracting business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the national service strategy, including revenue growth, branch rollout, technician development, client experience, and technology integration.
- Build and lead a service-first culture that emphasizes speed, reliability, and client retention.
- Partner with the executive team to align the service strategy with PE-backed growth objectives and overall company valuation goals.
Division Development & Scale
- Design and implement the organizational structure for the service division, including leadership, dispatch, sales, and field operations.
- Standardize processes for work order management, estimating, preventative maintenance, and emergency response.
- Build scalable P&L models, KPIs, and dashboards for branch-level reporting and performance management.
- Establish training, recruiting, and career pathing programs for technicians, service managers, and service sales reps.
Operational Excellence
- Implement and refine systems for CRM, field service management, and asset tracking to ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop pricing strategies, preventative maintenance programs, and multi-site client service offerings.
- Drive data-backed decision making, using analytics to improve response times, margin performance, and customer satisfaction.
Growth & Business Development
- Partner with business development and account management teams to expand national and regional accounts.
- Build strong relationships with key commercial clients, property managers, and facility directors to position the company as a trusted maintenance partner.
- Create scalable service models that can be replicated as the company expands into new markets or acquires additional branches.
Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience within building services such as Mechanical, HVAC, ESPC, Energy Services, or Roofing
- Proven success building or transforming a service division within a multi-branch contracting or construction environment.
- Deep understanding of service P&L management, dispatch operations, and customer lifecycle strategies.
- Experience integrating technology platforms (CRM, ERP, field management systems) to drive operational visibility.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead high-performing service teams across geographies.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to translate operational KPIs into business outcomes.
- Experience in a private equity or investor-backed environment is preferred.
