We are seeking a technically skilled and team-oriented Building Automation Engineering Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of our clients engineering team responsible for Building Automation Systems (BAS). This role combines technical oversight with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring the reliable operation, optimization, and support of automation systems controlling HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other building infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong background in BAS design and integration, combined with leadership experience in a dynamic, multi-site environment.
Supervise and coordinate BAS engineering staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of building automation systems.
Oversee and participate in the design, programming, and configuration of BAS for HVAC, lighting, and other control systems.
Review project scopes, control sequences, and technical documentation to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
Serve as a technical lead for troubleshooting complex system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
Assist in planning and managing small to mid-size automation upgrade and integration projects.
Monitor system performance and assist in developing strategies for energy savings, fault detection, and operational efficiency.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation, including control drawings, network diagrams, and programming records.
Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and Operations teams to maintain system integrity, cybersecurity, and uptime.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Promote and enforce safety procedures and compliance with building codes and internal policies.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in BAS/controls engineering, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or technical lead role.
Strong knowledge of BAS platforms such as Tridium/Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Delta, Alerton or Schneider Electric.
Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
Hands-on experience with control logic programming, system commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and other control protocols.
Understanding of energy management strategies, building performance metrics, and related compliance standards.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Tridium, CEM, LEED, PMP, or NICET) preferred.
