Business Intelligence Analyst – Construction Industry

Key Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence & Data Management:

  • Collect, integrate, and manage large datasets from multiple sources, including financial systems, project management software, and on-site reports.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
  • Monitor and clean data to eliminate inaccuracies and maintain reliability for decision-making.

Data Analytics & Reporting:

  • Analyze project performance metrics, financial data, workforce utilization, and union payroll trends to drive strategic insights.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as budget adherence, schedule efficiency, and resource productivity.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to project managers and senior leadership to optimize operations and improve profitability.

Forecasting & Predictive Analytics:

  • Use historical data to forecast project costs, resource needs, and potential scheduling risks.
  • Develop predictive models to identify trends, potential delays, and cost overruns.
  • Support risk management by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support:

  • Partner with project managers, finance teams, and senior executives to translate data into meaningful business strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance on business intelligence tools and best practices.
  • Effectively communicate complex data insights in a clear, actionable manner tailored to various stakeholders.

Process Optimization & Strategic Improvements:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, reporting, and analysis workflows.
  • Implement business intelligence strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Leverage automation and advanced analytics to streamline processes and enhance operational performance.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or performance management within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Experience with union payroll processes, including compliance, reporting, and data analysis.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Buildops).
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
