As a Business Development Leader, you will drive sales and marketing efforts in a business-to-business setting, covering an assigned territory while building a portfolio of accounts through referrals, prospecting, and networking events. Ideal candidates have a proven track record in fast-paced construction sales with a strong hunter mindset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop a value proposition and sales strategy to increase market share and execute sales plans within your territory.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new business opportunities and partnerships aligned with company objectives.
- Build and manage a pipeline of future sales opportunities, utilizing CRM software to drive pipeline velocity and create a balanced portfolio.
- Acquire new customers through cold calling, prospecting, networking, telemarketing lead follow-up, targeted marketing, and business development meetings.
- Maintain strong client relationships with a focus on customer service to drive referrals and repeat business.
- Lead strategic opportunity reviews for assigned accounts.
- Plan, oversee, and participate in marketing outreach, industry meetings, and trade shows as needed.
- Coordinate cost estimates on project consultations in collaboration with support staff.
- Track performance metrics and participate in financial analysis of completed projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of construction or industrial sales experience.
- Demonstrated success in growing market share.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sales drive and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and sales tracking abilities, utilizing CRM software.
- Strong time management and follow-up skills.
- Ability to travel as needed, sometimes with little notice.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, along with computer proficiency.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Degree in Business or Construction Management preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
