Overview:
Our client, a leading Pre-Fabrication and Mechanical Modular Solutions Manufacturer is looking for a growth oriented Project Manager within the construction market in the East Coast. Our clients organizations offer a single resource for manufacturing, design and robust quality, faster construction scheduling/project completion, and eliminates clashes and confusion during the project!
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and Assembles project schedule and associated responsibilities at each phase: engineering (submittal development, fabrication and production documentation), factory production, delivery, field installation support, start-up and commissioning, and warranty period
Determines project responsibilities based on project schedule; establishes key personnel at each phase for purposes of managing accountability
Leads development of project submittals, for review/approval by 3rd party engineer – based on an amalgamation of project specifications and drawings, relevant construction and performance standards, and the proposal as accepted by the owner; lead submittal reviews with both internal and external parties
Performs buy-out of key external cost items (equipment, major sub-contracts) to set project budget, including solicitation/collection of cost proposals and associated analytics to support the recommendation for selection
Maintains current and accurate records of all project-related communications (external and internal) as the primary point of contact for the company
Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews
Communicates on behalf of the company with customers, stakeholders, and their representatives - including building owners, construction managers, sub-contractors, product/equipment manufacturers and associated representatives, and field support staff
Performs site visits to active projects as required and at key milestones (delivery, rigging/installation, commissioning, turn-over/training, etc.)
Schedules start-up and commissioning activities to support customer’s project timeline
Responsible for the successful transition into warranty period, including issuance of warranty letter, and acts as the primary point of contact through completion of warranty obligations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
Fluency in MS Project software suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to work remotely and independently
Some overnight travel required (approx. 25-50%)
Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team (sales, design engineering, factory production, field installation)
Demonstrated project management skills; being able to visualize, plan, orchestrate and execute multiple projects concurrently in order to meet multifaceted goals (time, scope, and budget)
Experience with project financial budgeting, planning, and administration
Experience with conflict resolution and negotiations
Ability to interface diplomatically with individuals (both internal and external) at various levels within an organization
