Position: Vice President of Operations

The VP of Service Operations is a key organizational leader who is accountable for the profitable and sustainable performance of the HVAC / IoT Service, Maintenance and Projects business. They are responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of activities to achieve financial performance targets and organizational goals. A successful VP of Operations will engage and grow their business, and accurately and consistently deliver best-in-class operations. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Key Deliverables
  • Identify opportunities and execute plans for capitalizing on them
  • Achieve Revenue, Gross Margin, and EBITDA budgets
  • Strong and visionary leadership to achieve strategic objectives  
Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the HVAC/IOT Service, Maintenance and Projects business.
  • Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes to achieve financial and growth objectives.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues, determine and execute solutions.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction regarding all operational functions across the company
  • Coach and train managers to ensure optimized workflows and labor efficiency.
  • Develop and direct strategies to achieve goals and capitalize on efficiency gains.
  • Develop and manage financial budgets to achieve growth and accurately forecast performance.
  • Review estimating and pricing activity to ensure best value solutions at highest attainable margins.
  • Coordinate support to operations through the region.
  • Team development resulting in a written career path and succession plan for each person.
  • Customer development and customer satisfaction for repeat and recurring revenues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • 7 or more years’ experience in operations management-.
  • 3 or more years of P&L responsibility of at least $20MM in the industry.
  • 5 or more years of management of 10 or more direct or in-direct reports.
  • Multi-team management experience.
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strategic, process-oriented thinker with strong work ethic and proactive decision-making ability.
  • Self-motivated and able to execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to generate accurate, consistent, and timely work product.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, trade ERP experience preferred, but not required.
